Park Overall's latest, In the Family, coming to DVD in May
Park Overall's latest film, the critically acclaimed In the Family, is coming to DVD in May 2013 after a successful run on the film festival circuit.
In the film, Park plays the character Sally Hines, the matriarch of a family who, upon the death of her son, struggles to pick up the pieces and understand the role of her son's partner in the new family configuration.
"Park is excellent in it," Patrick Wang, the film's director and star, tells Empty Nest Online, "and gets to showcase both her comedic and dramatic talents."
Park, pictured at right with costar Trevor St. John, shared this statement: "It is the best movie I've ever done, by far. It is the kind of movie I always wanted to be in, but they just don't make movies like this. I could not be more pleased with the script, the director, the cast, everyone involved."

Kristy McNichol comes o
ut to People magazine
Kristy McNichol, who has remained largely out of the spotlight since leaving Empty Nest in 1992, has come out as a lesbian in an effort to be true to herself and help those bullied because of their sexual orientation. You can read the article on Kristy, and see a recent photo of her with her partner of 20+ years, on People's website.
"I was happy to help shape her statement and lend her my support on her very personal decision to come out," Jeff Ballard, Kristy's publicist, tells Empty Nest Online, adding that Kristy's People.com announcement had passed 1.5 million hits just days after it went live in January.
Nearly a week after People broke the news on Kristy's coming out, she released a second statement to the magazine in which she spoke about the reaction she's seeing: "I'm overwhelmed with the love and support of my family, friends and fans."
Another photo of Kristy also surfaced, posing with actor Chandler Massey of Days of Our Lives. Ballard, publicist for both stars, arranged the meeting. Check out the Greg in Hollywood site for the full story and photo with Massey.
